I had to hold my breath as this book takes off, to be put up on a block for sale is mind blowing. To be a total innocent as ladies where in that day and time would be your worst nightmare. To become a man’s mistress in that day and time is bad enough but to a total stranger is mind blowing. What a nightmare it would have been for Heather whose mother died when she was young. No one to tell her the ways of men and what was expect in a marriage bed let alone what to expect as a man’s mistress. The author takes you through all this and you get to see a side of a very bad man who treats lady baddly. Drew stood there listening to what this man said along with what his friend told him about him. There was no way Drew could let this beautiful young lady be treated so badly. He bought her, now what to do with her….Heather is standing there never have been so embarrassed in her life, wondering how her father could do this. Why couldn’t he have been a father who took care of her and not gotten so in to gambling. Now she is expected to let herself be sold to pay his debits, how much more can she take. What will be expected of her and how will she live through this…..The author takes you on a wild ride and she paints the story of fear, love, betrayal, being called name that you do not fit in because of one man. The road has been paved now both Heather and Drew must make the best of it. Can love withstand all they must go through? The author gives you many twists and turns as you gives you a wonderful story of sorrow, pain and lose. Just when things couldn’t get any worse her past is exposed and his family has a few things to say. He will have to pick one, can he walk away from his close net family or will he stay with the women he loves?Drew is a wonderful man who is truly a gentlemen who cares, who’s past has things he would like to forget. They get in the way of how he thinks today and how he deals with issues. This is going to cause trouble with Heather. Heather has enough to deal with how much more can this lovely young lady take before she will say ENOUGH…. I loved these characters these two are wonderful together. There are many faces to meet and some aren’t so nice. You will grow to love a few and hate others. The author writing is strong as she pulls you in, you forget you are reading. All you can think about is getting your hands around a few necks and breaking them. This is the second book I have read of this author, each one is better than the last. The author has a wonderful writing style that leaves you breathless as she takes you on a journey that makes not want to put the book down. This is a page turner for sure, you just have to find out what happens next. I love this authors style the way she puts words together, the many different ways she takes the stories she writes. This is one story you are going to love, the words flow so easy as you think OH No how much more can she take. If you haven’t tried this author you really should pick up one of her books. If you haven’t read this one you will want to. You are so going to love the ending…. This is one spicy, passionate read as you brood along with Drew and come to love this wonderful man and his lady Heather.

I rec'd an ARC of this second book in the series of the McKenzie brothers from the author Kimberly Nee, in exchange for an honest opinion. This is mousiey very honest opinion. Ms Nee has done it again this book is awesome!! And even better than the first one. Ms Nee has a true talent with words and story telling . she can make them come to life and jump off the page right before your eyes. In Playing in Fire we find Drew the youngest of the McKenzie's brothers in the House of Eros. Where young women are being bidded upon. One catches his eye her name is Heather Morgan. She came be there as her father sold her to pay off his debts. ( Man that bites big time- to think a father would that to his own child). And rate Drew finds himself bidding to safe her from a fate with another that would ruin her or could even kill her. He ends up paying a high price for her. Takes her to his house. Only to learn that he has to leave for his home to take care of family business. He takes Heather with him. Drew sees Heather as his mistress an nothing more. He has been burned by another - has lost all faith in women now. He will use them as mistress but will not marry-or so he says. This story is very moving-romantic-compelling-page turning/edge of your seat. This is an amazing love story set in the historical setting. In order to see how this book ends and how and what happens to Drew and Heather you will have to read Playing with Fire. As Drew really does play with Fire !!. I recommend this book to everyone especially those of you who love to read a great Historical romance novel. Mousiey gives it a 40 out a 5 stars rating. Now run and get your copy today.

This book was great. The book was wonderfully written and the characters pull you in. Heather never thought she would be in a gaming house being bid on. Drew never thought that he would be buying a mistress. But that is what is happening to both of them. Drew bid on Heather because he knew the other man bidding on her and knew what he wanted from her. Something about her made Drew want to protect her. Heather is unsure of what to expect from Drew. Drew is going to sail home and is taking Heather with him. Heather helps during the course of the voyage. Drew is surprised by Heather at times. Drew and Heather find they have feeling for each other over the course of the book. What will Drew’s family think when they learn how they came to meet and that Drew actually bought her? Drew and Heather go through many things during the course of their voyage. Will they be able to have a future together? Drew has gone through his own tough time in the past and been hurt. He is afraid that Heather will hurt him again. Drew and Heather are great characters. The story and characters are engaging. I liked that you got to revisit with some of the characters from the first book again. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.I was given this book in return for an honest review.

“Playing With Fire” is the second book in the McKenzie Brothers series by Kimberly Nee. Kimberly did another great job with this book, it kept me just as hooked at the first one did. Like Katherine, Heather too came from a privileged background and was thrust into a life she never expected to live. She may not be a strong, feisty female at the beginning but she does prove herself to be a very loving and devoted woman who defiantly grows to be the strong woman you only get a glimpse of in the beginning. As for Drew, I think funny, sexy and smart are in the McKenzie men’s DNA because even with a little pain in his past he is just at delicious as his brother. How any girl could just want him for his name is beyond me. As a couple I think they are my favorite out of all four books. With their struggles to get beyond their pasts and devotion for each other you can’t help but love them. Just like with the first book Kimberly did a great job keeping the reader entertained with action, humor and of course love scenes. She is defiantly on a roll with this series.A Danielle's Domain Review: http://daniellesdomainreviews.blogspo...

Kindle Copy for ReviewHeather Morgan finds herself being auctioned off to the highest bidder to pay off her father’s debts. She awaits her fate where she will become a whore to the highest bidder.Drew Morgan did not plan to attend the auction. He had no need for a mistress on his life as a Captain of a ship going back and forth to America and England. But when he sees her, he is struck by more than his beauty as he feels the need to rescue her. He is weary of females as he had his heart broken before. He takes her on his next journey and along the way they slowly fall each other. One point he risks his life to save her from one of his crew men and she ends up attending to his injuries. When her scandalous past comes out and destined to destroy their fragile relationship, what will he do? Does he risk his love with Heather and possible happiness with her and their upcoming baby or his family’s name? Will they be able to handle the scandal or will it doom them?

Heather is auctioned off to pay off her fathers debt.Drew Morgan is the lucky winner, who bids on her, though he hadn’t planned to be there that day. Lucky for Heather that he was. Though I’m curios how you explain how you they come to meet to their children.Drew has been hurt by another and has sworn off women. Though when it comes to Heather he finds out that he will do anything to keep her safe. When Heather’s past comes back for her, will it tear the apart or pull them closer together?I was a lot peeved at the father, but after I got over my mad I enjoyed the book. Though the silver lining in all of this, is that Heather found a man who she can love and he will love her in return. You go through the journey of how Heather and Drew fall in love though Drew tries to fight it. Sometimes men are just to stubborn for their own good. Now that I have started the series I can’t wait to keep reading it.Check out official review at Nessa's Book Reviews

Kimberly Nee’s “Playing With Fire” is the second book in her McKenzie Brothers series, and the second book is just as good as the first! I would liken the series to Stephanie Laurens’ Black Cobra Quartet series. The entire series is very well done and has nice, full stories in each book as well as interconnections between the books. Each book has a lot of really sexy parts, which is good because I hate historical romances without any naughty bits! “Playing with Fire” has Heather, the leading lady, who is caught in a terrible situation, and Drew, the leading man, who is broody and broken, yet he rescues her. Mmm, mmm, good. You just literally can’t put these books down.

A Regency novel is made all the more interesting when you have two characters with as much spunk and fire as Drew and Heather. Drew is a man all women will easily fall in love with, due to his passion, zest for life, and wicked sense of humor. Heather of course is a bit more subdued, and at times a little insecure, but she rarely lets Drew get away with a temper fit. They fill this read with sweetness and spice and everything naughty and nice. LototyReviewer for Coffee Time Romance & MoreOfficial Review @ Coffee Time Romance & More

This is the second book in The McKenzie Brothers Series, it is a historical Romance setting with some naughty bedroom romance and story suspense. The Author does a great job setting up the scene for you in the story, and makes you want to keep reading and turning the pages. This story follows Heather and Drew and how they meet and fall in love. The author does a great job connecting the series of the books together but also keeping them separate. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Reviewed for Hooked on Books---4 stars!Once again, I'll have to say that I'm very surprised that I ended up liking this book. This one is about Drew and Heather, the brother of Garrett. I don't really have a lot to say other than I thoroughly enjoyed it and I can't wait to see what happens in the next one and who it's about!

Forced to sell her virtue to pay for her father's bills but being put on auction sounds horribly worse. Drew saves her from a sinister guy but now he has a mistress. The issues they have together and separately keep your attention throughout the book.
